Born to Ride

I must be nuts.

As you may (or may not) know. I bought a new scooter December 3rd. I work a full time job and remember it’s December. I just checked the odometer; I’ve put a little over 1,100 miles on it. Yes, eleven-hundred miles.

What do you think, am I nuts?

Nope, just dedicated...

Good to see you back!

Thanks for taking care of my adopted soldier.

He just represents how good our troops really are.

From the moment I started reading his blog I knew he was quality people.

Well...HOW many PGR missions have you been on? and HOW far away have they been from you? Here in GA, anyway, most of the ones I've been on have been long-distance - 2 hours (or even more) away... the PGR will add milageto whatever mode of transportation you have, real quick, LOL! (but it's worth it). :)

4 missions, one as close as 50 miles. One as far as 250 miles.

Kat, you're right. the PGR will add miles to whatever mode of transportation you have.

I'll see you after the holiday.

I'll refrain from comment on the "Am I nuts" part.

But with weather like this in December, I don't blame you one bit.

Yep... you got that right. The furthest one for me, total round trip, was about 450 miles - the rest have averaged (round trip) about 120-200 miles (which includes escorting the hearse to the cemetary - that's often the longest part of the drive for us -- there is a national cemetary in Canton - 2 hours away - that I've been to twice, and once went to McCaysville, on the GA/TN border - about 3 hrs - that was the 450 miles round-trip one).

There's a couple who live about a mile down the road from me, and they walk six miles a day regardless of the weather. Now that might be admirable, but these two walk the same route - 1 mile up the road, turn around, walk the same mile back down the road - three times a day. Like hamsters on a wheel. We're all nuts in one way or another... ;)

Happy holidays to you, DNR! Ride on!

P.S. Please enlighten this wizard... what's a PGR mission?

Sounds like your scooter is faster than mine.

Thank you for volunteering to honor those who have given so much.
