Many people are claiming it is trivial, and that many people do not place their hand over their heart during the National Anthem.

But, ya know what? I do it each and every time and I expect the leaders of this nation to do the same.

They are showing us, by their actions, where they stand. I want to know that they stand for America.

Simple acts of patriotism should be automatic.

This probably won't be a popular comment, and surely not the response that you were hoping for - but I do think that it is trivial.

They are plenty of other pics and videos that do show him with his hand over his heart. And I would like to say that I put my on my heart every time, but if I am distracted, or thinking of something else, it's possible that I have forgotten in the past. It should be automatic, but it's not being tuaght in our schools, and it simply isn't as habitual as it once was.

And quite frankly, most of the people that are going to be bothered by this act, wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

And the people that would vote for him (or any other Democrat) don't or won't care that he didn't put his hand over his heart.

I would hope that in a presidential election, people would care enough about the future of our country to base a vote on policies and what the politician actually stands for and has voted for in the past, instead of over one video concerning the placement of his hand.
